PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT AWARD
This award recognizes outstanding leadership in service to leadership programs, including Leadership New Jersey itself and the LNJ Graduate Organization, or to the National Association of Community Leadership, or to local or regional programs, school, or college programs.

Barbara Kauffman, LNJ 1991, received the Program Development Award from Joey Novick, LNJ 1998. Barbara began and continues to manage LNJ's monthly networking receptions in Newark.

ALETHA R. WRIGHT VOLUNTEER LEADERSHIP AWARD
This award recognizes outstanding leadership in a community organization as a volunteer: leadership in service to religious organizations, scouting programs, community sports programs, political campaigns, and service organizations. It is named for the late Aletha R. Wright, LNJ '92, to honor her spirit of voluntary, civic leadership.

West Windsor Mayor Shing-Fu Hsueh, LNJ 1996, receives the Aletha Wright Volunteer Leadership Award from DCA's Deputy Commissioner Dale Caldwell, LNJ 1998, for outstanding service as an elected official.
